This document outlines:

  • Unblock websites temporarily for the duration of a class
  • Request permanent access to frequently used websites

Unblock websites temporarily, for the duration of the class

  1. Before unblocking a website, first confirm whether it is being blocked by Linewize/Classwize or by the school firewall.  If the site is being blocked by the firewall, please raise an IT support ticket.

  1. To whitelist a site for your lesson, sign in to Classroom Manager and select the class for which you want to create the rule. 

 

 

  1. If there are no existing rules for the class, select Create Rule. If rules already exist, select + New Rule. This will open the Add New Rule window. 

 

 

  1. In the Add New Rule window, paste the website URL, set the rule to Allow, select Whole Class, and then click Add Rule to save the change.

Unblock frequently access website permanently

  1. If you require permanent access to a website, please contact your Head of Department. The Head of Department will need to email SWAT to request permanent access to the site. 
  2. The request should also include the website URL and a brief explanation of why ongoing access is required.
